Elisions218 Studios and Gallery(sng) is a company founded by an artist born out of institutionalism and incarceration. Because of the recidivism involved in the early years of the artist in development a lot of time was spent in self taught art techniques and research via tattoo magazines, or anything else readily available to a county inmate in Yellowstone County Detention Facility (YCDF), of the state of Montana. As the "Art Career" progressed on to newer facilities across Montana, and including Wyoming, Minnesota, and North Dakota, there have been untold pieces created on envelopes and paper for the enjoyment of hundreds of clients. But one theme remained. Release and Recapture, with none of this amazing art to be shared outside the walls of an institution, at anytime or anywhere. This has been an oversite that has been needing correction. We at Elisions218 will be providing art prints of the 2014-2015 created paintings done by Jason Young, founder and owner of Elisions218sng, and in the coming seasons- more art being licensed from artists having some form of incarceration or institutionalism in their background, or from those in need of an artist liaison to the public arena. No art will go unloved, not by us here at Elsioins218sng! And by that design we hope to change the way the world views artists incarcerated and artists emerging as valuable and viable assets of the art communities around the globe. My art has given me the ability to keep myself motivated in recreating myself as a productive citizen and improving role model for anyone looking for a way to change their incarcerated ways.
It's been an amazing past two years and counting! Still sober and still clean!
Crazy I'm really getting to follow my dream of having my own art company and my own life on the outside of an institution's walls. Everyday I'm out now I look at the blessings I've received from standing my own ground on what "Squintz" needs and not what the old wants demand.
But anyway, I thank everyone who's been a part of this transformation, and everyone in the future as well.
