Evergreen Art Discovery is the elementary art curriculum of the Evergreen Public Schools in Vancouver, Washington. Each of our 21 schools have a coordinator at the school who recruits volunteers for each classroom, manages art materials and communicates with the district coordinator. Each school has a different theme for each month of the year. Volunteers lead an art lesson and related project once a month in each classroom. Volunteers are typically parents, but may be aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents or community members that care about our kids and the schools. No knowledge of art is necessary: art volunteers are facilitators that make the art lessons happen and organize the materials -- but it is the students who are the artists!
