Fangshi Diner

Fangshi Diner is a gallery dedicated to the medicinal cooking of John Bowers. The food depicted here was prepared using organic, pastured and wild ingredients, combined with fats, spices, herbs and plant compounds chosen for their medicinal properties. This type of food preparation is a conduit to healing and these images are intended to inspire.


"We live in a world where accepting the mainstream and unconsciously consuming the food it has to offer will undoubtedly lead to chronic illness. Even our water, light, and the ocean of electromagnetic radiation that surrounds us has become toxic and needs to be consciously mitigated in order to stay ahead of things like cancer and heart disease. There's no way to control every variable but we can tip the scales in our favor. I'm a cook. Food is my favorite medium so that's where I do the work. It's where I make medicine." -JB
