Here at Fireside we are passionate about books and the written word, the feel of a page in your hand when you turn to the next chapter, our store's history as well as our historic community, and of course the customers we serve!

We believe in the importance of friendly face-to-face contact with our visitors, whether they come from down the street or "across the Pond". Having been in business for over 50 years, it's easy for us to preserve the feel and homey ambiance of an authentic old-time bookstore...because we are one. But that doesn't mean we're stuck in the Dark Ages.

Our three floors are packed to the gills with the newest best sellers in all categories and a wide variety of on-hand titles in both fiction and non-fiction genres. You'll also find a rotating selection of gently used books garnered from our "trade-in events", and our entire third floor is devoted to children...children's books, activities, puzzles, games and small gifts.

We have a passion for getting our customers the books they want. If we don't have it in the store at the time, we'll try our darnedest to sleuth it out for you in a timely manner and get it in your hands as fast as possible. That includes titles that are out-of-print.

We're not slick, we're a bit old-fashioned. But that's part of our charm. We think you'll like us. Creaky floors and all.
