First Friday Downtown Monroe

WHAT IS FIRST FRIDAY? First Friday Downtown Monroe is an event that takes place on the first Friday of every month throughout the city. This self guided experience focuses on art, music & culture, while highlighting Downtown Monroe business.Come out to see what our downtown has to offer! Family centered activities happen from 6 pm to 9 pm and a vibrant night life will continues into the evening with afterglow activities.

HOW DID FIRST FRIDAY START? FF was born in December of 2014 at the studios of Art Up Gallery. It began as a monthly gathering at the Art Gallery to exhibit local artists work, live music & poetry, and a chance to gather with community and friends.

HOW IS FIRST FRIDAY GROWING? As more Downtown Monroe businesses joined the celebration and First Friday received funding from the Downtown Development Authority, the event is continuing to expand. Monroe's monthly gathering has grown in size and popularity. Currently there are over 25 local downtown businesses that participate in their own way on the First Friday of every month. Locations have activities, live music, sales & promotions throughout the day, and many keep their doors open late into the evening to celebrate commerce, community, art & culture here in Historic Downtown Monroe Michigan.
