Galveston Island Food & Wine Festival

The 8th annual Galveston Island Food & Wine Festival returns with all your favorite events and new wines, May 5-6, 2017.

Last year’s event included wines from 25 vineyards and this year the event expects to surpass those numbers. The 8th Annual Food and Wine Fest kicks off with a pre-event Blind Tasting on April 20th, then the real deal starts May 5th. From $30 to $156 there is a package that fits any budget and enough wine selections to satisfy the most critical palate. Pour into bliss this May and join in for a special springtime event with specialty food items, culinary events, artisan exhibits, and live musical entertainment; it is sure to be the event of the year. Enjoy wines from around the world paired with delicious local food, and learn first-rate tips from popular chefs and renowned winemakers.

Blind Wine Tasting: April 20th from 6:00pm-7:30pm (round one), 8:00-9:30pm (round 2)
All participating wines will be blind sampled and judged to narrow down to the top 3 red and 3 white wines at the Blind Wine Tasting held at Bienville Social. Limited tickets are available to the public. Prices coming soon.

Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Dinner: April 27th from 6:00pm-9:00pm at American National Insurance Co. 21st Floor.
The invitation only dinner guests will blind taste the top 3 red and top 3 whites to determine the Grand Champion, Grand Reserve Champion and Reserve Champion. The Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs™ is the oldest and largest food and wine society in the world.

Premium Wine Tasting and Pairing: May 5th from 6:00pm-8:00pm
The Premium Wine Tasting and Pairing returns this year for the true gourmand. Guests will enjoy premium wines from vineyards around the world and decadent hors d’oeuvres along with exclusive art exhibits. Prices coming soon.

The Grand Tasting: May 6th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm
The Grand Tasting is the highlight of the festival. Patrons will embark on a tasting trip through vineyards from all around the world, enjoying approximately 200 wines and a variety of food samplings from the Island’s top restaurants. The fantastic live music and the barrage of artisan exhibits along the park will complete this afternoon of indulgences. A portion of the proceeds benefits Galveston College Culinary Arts, Alvin Community College Culinary Arts & The Galveston County Resource and Crisis Center.
