GenerAsians (GA)

GenerAsians (GA) is Wellesley College's Asian/Asian American magazine for people of all ethnic backgrounds to discuss and write about Asian/Asian American culture, issues, and events. All types of submissions are welcome including current events, social issues, opinions, reviews/spotlights, creative writing, creative works (artwork, photography), editorials, etc.

Published once each semester (in full color!) and distributed free of charge, GA is dedicated to raising campus awareness of social, cultural, and political issues affecting Asians and Asian Americans. To further its purpose of educating the community and strengthening multicultural ties, GA hosts various on-campus events such as writing workshops and symposiums.

GA was founded by Michelle Cheuk ’00 in the spring of 1997. With financial assistance from several Asian student organizations and a staff of only 10 students, GA released its first issue in May 1997. The magazine has since established itself as one of the college’s major student publications, with a readership that comprises a diversity of students, faculty, and staff. GA is now entering its fifteenth year of publication!
