What Kind of Training Do I Receive?
Our program lasts about 7 weeks and is comprised of classroom learning, homework, and hands-on training. Your first week will be spent learning the theory of resident care. Beginning with the second week you will be able to apply what you have learned at one of our Golden Living Centers. All of your time spent will be instructor-led, and you will get the opportunity to experience what it is like to care for patients. Classes are normally full-time, five days a week and vary from 6:00 am – 5:00 pm. Because subject matter is condensed, attendance, homework, and punctuality are mandatory.

What Qualifications are Required?
The best part about the Golden Living Nurse Aide Training Program is that no previous health care experience or education is required. You must not have any felony or criminal misdemeanor convictions, and applicants will be subject to a county and state-wide criminal background check if selected for the program. You must be at least 18 years of age. We hope that you will take the opportunity to begin a career in senior health care. The Golden Living Training Program is a great way to get started. There is no obligation to work for Golden Living, but we are always seeking qualified certified nursing assistants to join the caring teams at our Golden Living Centers.

How Do I Apply?
We run a new class approximately every 8 -10 weeks. To be considered for our Nurse Aide Pre-Certification Program, you will need to pick up an application during our next Application Distribution Event. Our information line (574-293-0364) will be updated to include the date/time applications will be available. An advertisement will also run in the South Bend Tribune and the Elkhart Truth. During the Application Distribution Event, 25 applications will be available from each of our three Living Centers on a first-come, first serve basis. The Living Center addresses are:
Golden Living Center – Elkhart @ 1001 W. Hively Avenue, Elkhart 46514
Golden Living Center – Countryside @ 811 E. 12th Street, Mishawaka 46561
Golden Living Center – Fountainview @ 609 W. Tanglewood Lane, Mishawaka 46561

Once you have received an application, there will be a cover letter attached explaining the selection process. Please do NOT call the living centers as they do not have any information for the Training Center and will re-direct you back to the information line. The applications will not be available at the Living Centers until the specified date/time.
