Governor's School Alumni Showcase

This spring, we are hosting the Third Biennial Governor's School Alumni Showcase. We would like to ask you to share your life path, aspirations, and passions with current students by participating as a featured panelist.

You would need to commit to being at the school from 9am to 3pm on Friday, March 25, 2016 (Good Friday), and prepare a 10-minute presentation on your life, inspirations, accomplishments, or passions. Given that this event depends on alumni participation, we need a firm commitment from you that you will be able to attend if you would like to participate.

In 2011, Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School hosted its first Alumni Showcase. The half-day event showcased the life paths of alumni representing 12 classes of graduates. By 2014, the event grew to be a full-day event with nearly 40 alumni participating. Both Showcases received overwhelmingly positive feedback from students, teachers, and participants, and it was truly inspiring to see so many wonderful alumni from completely different backgrounds come together to share their experiences and perspectives with current students.
