Green Hill Church of the Brethren

The first service of Green Hill was held at Bend Chapel, a community church located five miles southwest of our present
church. On May 15, 1910 the Union community church was dedicated. On October 29, 1917 the first Council meeting was
held. The Union Church was disorganized and was reorganized as Green Hill Church of the Brethren. Baptismal services
were held in branch near the church and in the Roanoke River. In June 1933 ground breaking services were held for the new
church to be located on land donated by Brother L. N. Kinzie (our current location). The addition of an educational building
was dedicated on October 19, 1958. In 1998 the church purchased the Davis property next to the church for the parsonage.
Today, Green Hill holds a worship service and a Sunday School each Sunday. Sunday School starts at 9:30 AM and Worship starts at 10:45 AM. The members of Green Hill continue the work of Jesus peacefully, simply, together.
