Hillsborough Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling, especially ground fighting, with the goal of gaining a dominant position and using powerful chokeholds and joint locks to force an opponent to submit or be knocked out. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu promotes the principal that a smaller, weaker person using leverage and proper technique can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant.

Our program will ensure that you receive well-rounded, streetwise self-defense that works while at the same time helping you to develop greater strength and muscular definition through fitness. Through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu we will help you to expand the capacity of your heart and lungs through intense cardiovascular conditioning and improve your flexibility in order to protect you from injury through various stretching exercises. By adding a little fun and excitement to each class, we make it easier for you to challenge your mind and body each time you step on the mat.

Henry Rzemieniewski (Head Instructor):
Although he began his Martial Arts journey studying Kick Boxing and Hapkido in 2003, it wasn't until he met Professor Josef "Ze Cobra" Manuel in 2005 and started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that he found the art and school that he could call home. Since he began training, Henry has reached the rank of Purple Belt under Professor Josef and the Robson Moura Nations United Association (RMNU) and has competed in local tournaments throughout the years. Hillsborough head instructor Henry Rzemieniewski has also studied Judo, Muay Thai Kicking Boxing and Western Boxing.
