The programs are Equine Health and Complimentary Therapies, Farrier Science and Business, and Wilderness Horsemanship. Hocking College offers unique hands-on practical experiences that may include a real life western pack trip.

Equine Health and Complimentary Therapies
Hocking College Healthcare students will start with the inside of the horse and work their way to the outside. Students will learn both traditional and alternative ways of helping the horse such as Equine Massage and Acupressure. They will learn about anatomy, conformation and healthcare. In the spring students will participate in the Reproduction and Broodmare class, with live foaling in the campus barns. From then on, students will learn how to take care of a newborn foal up to a senior horse. Students will obtain the knowledge of how to administer shots, take vitals and close wounds. Classes are being taught by an on staff veterinarian and a veterinarian assistant. The instructors have many years of experience, making it simple for novice students to learn, as well as those who are experienced.
