HomanGrown is a collaboration between the Foundation for Homan Square (FHS), and, Global Impact Fund (GIF), that works toward sustainable, resilient community development in Chicago's North Lawndale neighborhood.

Homan Rails Farm (HRF), the flagship project, is a local community initiative and an educational urban farm project that teaches neighborhood youth about sustainability, design and entrepreneurship, while enhancing local biodiversity and providing fresh, healthy food for the community. The farm provides an opportunity for vibrant and safe outdoor activity to the plethora of organizations and their constituents working on the Homan Square campus.

HRF is located on the rail corridor between W. Arthington St. and W. Fillmore St. at Homan Ave.

HomanGrown/Lab is a collaborative graduate studio of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, that explores participatory design processes to actuate a variety of projects and programs with/by/for the local community. We are not affiliated with the CPD torture site, and we denounce any affiliated illegal and immoral practices that take place there.
