We are Helicopter Training Squadron EIGHT. We are the torch bearers of over six decades of ELITE heritage. Our mission is to produce the finest helicopter pilots for America's Sea Services and our Allied partners. We will do this through the cooperation and teamwork of our Sailors, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, Civilians and Families.

To successfully achieve our mission we will achieve five ELITE goals:

EXCEL: We will strive to be brilliant at the basics. We will be prepared for all flight and ground events and perform our jobs professionally.

LEARN: We will learn from each other. This is not just Students learning from Instructors. Professionals never stop learning.

INSPIRE: We must strive to inspire someone daily. We inspire by being professional, by being a mentor and by following our Services' Core Values. Our inspiration should begin with knowledge that we produce the best helicopter pilots in the world.

TEACH: We will teach each other by being consistently prepared and ready to execute the mission. This is not just Instructors teaching Students; professionals teach by example in being prepared and ready to execute the mission.

ENJOY: We must find time to enjoy life. Our Families expect it and we all deserve it. Family Readiness is equal to squadron readiness.
