Hundred Proof Writing

My name is Matthew Voscinar, and I am a writer, editor, and published poet currently residing in Masaryktown, Florida. I am a graduate of the University of South Florida with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Creative Writing and Public Advocacy. Soon, I will be applying to various programs to complete my MFA in Creative Writing.

In 2010, I began tutoring numerous classmates in academic writing. For me, writing papers was always easy. More often than not, I would wait until a day or two before the paper was due because I had developed my own personal process. I learned quickly that others struggled not because they were bad writers, but because they had yet to establish an approach that catered to their individual styles. As I branched out into tutoring other subjects, this issue arose time and time again.

The modern classroom is not an environment that caters to individual needs. When you attended courses on becoming an educator, a majority of time is spent developing ways to teach to different learning styles. There are many teachers, some of whom I know personally, who do this very well. Yet, in a majority of cases, this is thrown by the wayside when a student enters the classroom. A one size fits all approach is utilized because teachers are refused the adequate time and freedom they deserve with their students. This is why individual tutoring can make such a drastic improvement in a student's academic life.

I have been writing for personal reasons since around the age of ten, and I started freelance writing after the completion of my English degree in 2012. Since then, I have worked with a plethora of writers in very different fields with very different needs. I have written and edited academic guides on a variety of subjects, proofread and edited full-length manuscripts, assisted authors in the creative process of completing their books, mentored writers who needed help grasping the technicalities of writing, and much more.

I created Hundred Proof Writing and Tutoring because, all too often, finding a freelance writer or tutor will take you on a miserable and confusing journey into the depths of Craigslist or third-party websites where your hard earned money gets you mediocre service.

Hundred Proof Writing and Tutoring is the antithesis to this approach.
