In fall 2013, Teri McKenzie (the founder) began a process of interviewing people in the Coeur d’Alene area who were involved in some aspect of food systems work.
There was/is significant interest to warrant moving forward, so Teri proceeded to recruit a board of directors. The group became a sponsored project of the Clearwater Resource Conservation and Development Council (based in Moscow, ID).
Since its formation, the Inland NW Food Network has organized countless events including workshops, lectures, farm tours, farm to table dinners, cooking classes, seed swaps, and more.
In August 2017, they became a 501c.3 nonprofit organization.
