Shaded cream (black-based) - born very dark and lighten as they age. Often has “points” when born that fade. Black nose and nails, black eyeliner. Has varying degrees of black on ears, back, and tail.

Shaded cream (chocolate-based) - born fairly dark and lighten as they age. Often has “points” when born that fade. Liver colored nose and nails, chocolate eyeliner. Has slightly darker hairs on ears, back, and tail.

ee or pale cream (black-based) - born very light, almost white. Continue to stay light as they mature. Black nose and light nails, no eyeliner most of the time.

ee or pale cream (chocolate-based) - born very light, almost white. Continue to stay light as they mature. Liver nose and light nails, no eyeliner.

ee red (black or chocolate-based) - this is not a cream at all. Born very light, it takes an expert to identify whether the puppy is red or cream with the assistance of pictures of the parents and pedigrees. Will darken as they mature, becoming varying degrees of light red.

Cream Brindle – Born very dark and sometimes lighten as they age, usually remain their birth color. Cream base with dark brindle stripes.

Shaded cream showing for pie – All 4 feet, tip of tail, and large patch on chest are white. Piebalds must be 25% white, therefore this smaller amount of white is called “showing for pie”. Born dark and lighten as they mature, so the white fades into the cream and is barely noticeable as an adult.

Cream Piebald – More than 25% of coat is white and chest/feet/tip of tail must be white to be a piebald. Smooth edged cream patches. Symmetrical facial markings.

Cream Dapple - Dappling may be very faint and hard to identify as a puppy, and fades as they mature. This is called a “hidden dapple”. For breeding purposes, if they have a dapple parent they should be DNA tested for the Merle gene as breeding two dapples can have horrific results.
