James Place Child Care Program, Inc.

James Place has been a part of the Amesbury community since 1994, helping families with consistent, quality before and after school care during the school year as well as full time care during the summer, school vacations, and during other school closings. We provide care for families of varying incomes. We accept state child care vouchers from Child Care Circuit and have our own scholarship fund for families in crisis or those who earn too much to be eligible for state assistance but are still struggling,

James Place is open Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for fifty-two weeks of the year. We are open for Amesbury's teacher professional days, professional release time days and some snow days. Please visit our website for holiday closing information!


Each day, our program offers a variety of activity choices including creative arts, homework help, outside adventures, active play, science, imaginative play, building and construction, and quiet activities. Our staff is experienced, educated and committed to the mission of this program.

We collaborate with the schools and other social service agencies to support the families and children in our program and to assure that they receive consistent care strategies in the home, school, and out-of-school environments.


Our goal is to be a respected resource within the community and to be a dependable support system for all families. We currently serve some children who have been identified with a significant special need that can be either physical, cognitive, emotional or a combination of those. We work closely with families to be sure that each child's individual needs are met all while encouraging independence and building confidence.

Our vision for James Place is to continue to be an inclusive program, where all children and families are welcome. We will continue to meet the needs of the community by supporting working families and providing consistent, quality care and support to families.
