Joy A. Bartmon, a lifetime resident of South Florida, is a 1980 graduate of the University of Miami Law School, cum laude. She was licensed to practice law in November 1980 in Florida. From 1980 to1989 she practiced primarily civil and criminal litigation, appeals, social security disability, corporate transactions, and pension law in Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. In 1989, pursuing her commitment to serving the legal needs of children and families, she was hired as the first attorney for the Guardian Ad Litem Program of the 15th Judicial Circuit of Florida, a Court program protecting abused and neglected children involved in the legal system. In 1990, Joy Bartmon and her former husband started The Law Offices of Bartmon & Bartmon in Boca Raton, engaging mainly in family law, criminal law, and appellate practice. In 2009, Joy began her current solo practice of law as Joy A. Bartmon, Esq., P.A.
Her practice concentration is in the area of family law. Included in her practice are Mediation, Collaborative Family Law, prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements, dissolution of marriage (divorce), child custody, parenting plans, Guardian Ad Litem, Attorney ad Litem, domestic relations, grandparent custody, extended family custody, stepparent adoption, modification of custody, modification of support, same-sex couples issues, enforcement and contempt proceedings, and mental health law (including Marchman Act and Baker Act).
