Kenisee Grand River Campground

Welcome to Kenisee Grand River campground, thank you for you interest in our campground, but we are currently closed for the season. The 2014 camping season will begin May 1st and fun through the summer until the second week of October (weather permitting). Below you will find some specific information concerning the campground itself, and the surrounding area. See you all in the SPRING!!

Kenisee Grand River Campground is family camping at it's finest. Located in Geneva Ohio, two miles of route 90, and only forty five minutes from downtown Cleveland. Kenisee offers 220 acres of recreational land consisting of 304 seasonal lots, 16 full hook up overnight or weekend lots, and multiple water only tenting areas. There are four natural spring fed lakes that range in size spread throughout the campground. These lakes provide campers with some great fishing, swimming, and beaches for the kids and sunbathers. Kenisee has two outdoor pavilions that can be rented separately and our perfect for your next family event. Kenisee also has a large indoor facility that can be rented for your event to ensure weather has no effect on the outcome.

Kenisee campground offers outdoor activities for all different ages such as baseball, basketball, volleyball, bocci, horseshoes, shuffleboard, and four playgrounds for the children. The campground puts on events each weekend, Saturday afternoons we have. A kids activity such as hiking, crafts, sports, contests, scavenger hunts, and dances. The activities that are geared more towards the adult age groups are live entertainment, casino trips, tournaments and contests, and poker runs. Golf carts are a large part of seasonal life here at Kenisee, overnight or weekend guests are not aloud to have a cart. Seasonal campers are allowed gas or electric golf carts as long as the owner of the cart has proof of insurance and proper identification on the cart.

The scenic and wild Grand River flows through a section of the campground and offers plenty of activities for all types of enthusiasts. This river offers swimming, multiple species of fish for angles, hiking, and canoeing and kayaking. Kenisee does not rent canoes or kayaks, but we do offer places to put into the river and also to get out. There are a few river outfitters that will rent you a canoe or a kayak and drop you off and pick you up on specific places on the he river depending on the trip that you take. The Grand River is truly a "diamond in the ruff", and a must see when visiting Kenisee.

Near-by attractions

Kenisee Campground is only 7 miles (10 minutes) south of Lake Erie and Geneva on the Lake. The Great Lake Erie (Walleye capital) offers some of the best freshwater sports fishing in the country with the top species in the lake being the walleye, perch, steelhead (trout), and large and small mouth basses. Geneva state park has a public beach the offers some great swimming and sunbathing as well as boat ramps for boaters and jet skiers. Geneva on the Lake is a "can't miss" family destination filled with shows and local stores, restaurants and bars with live entertainment and lake views, mini-golf and go-carts, game rooms and adult gambling machines, and the famous "Eddies grill"!

Kenisees and it's surrounding area is right in the middle of northeastern Ohio's growing wine country. There are over ten local wineries each growing, harvesting, and making unique reds and white wines and are all within a 20 miles of each other. These winers are becoming very popular during the summer months offering live entertainment, special events, food, and yes as much wine as you can drink. Laurellos winery is located right across the street from the campground. Seasonal campers who wish to do do so can drive there golf cart from Kenisee right up to the front door of the winery.
