KASLAC the Kentuckiana Association of Songwriters, Lyricists, And Composers is a complete songwriters organaization based out of Louisville, KY. KASLAC is designed to advance and promote local original music and the many fine and talented songwriters of this area. KASLAC is reaching out to songwriters from all of Kentucky and Southern Indiana in our initial membership drive. KASLAC can help you get your music heard, meet other songwriters, network, participate in open stage events, showcases, and pitch sessions with industry people. KASLAC can help you hone your skills, learn more about the industry, keep abreast of copyright and publishing knowledge, and connect to musicians available to do studio backup for your demo's and recieve discounts from music stores and recording studios. There are two parts of KASLAC. The first is the KASLAC MeetUp group, whose members meet and share ideas, experiences, and play their songs for each other for feedback. The meetup group is free and can be joined by going to www.MeetUp.com and looking for KASLAC and joining. The second part is KASLAC the organization that requires a "once-a-year" membership fee of $25. KASLAC is a non-profit organization and the membership fee is required to offset the cost of mail, printing of brochures, applications, certificates of membership, and photo ID's that are required for most KASLAC functions. KASLAC is open to ALL songwriters regardless of talent level, skill, age, race, sex, creed, religion, nationality, or sexual preference.
