Kids Footstop

Started my career designing aircraft engine parts for GE (not kidding). After obtaining an MBA worked in marketing & advertising for 15-plus years. When my twin boys were born grew tired of the travel, weekends away, and god awful commute to Boston. Had an interest in starting a small business in my hometown of Winchester, MA.

Frustrated by the shoe buying process for my twins and new baby girl. Impossible to have a pleasant experience lugging all three to the mall for new shoes. And unable to complete the task in under two hours. Customer service in kids shoe category = subpar to put it nicely. No place truly catered to the kids or the parents for that matter. Felt I could offer something different. Something better.

Decided to open my own place. Offer great quality shoes in an environment that was super kid-friendly and fun...and focus on exceptional customer service and ensure properly fit shoes every time.

Hired a retail consultant (owned seven Stride Rite stores). Certified on accurately measuring and fitting kids feet. Learned the ins and outs of the biz. Included things to engage the kids - Treat Tree, Hang-Time Meter, movies, and of course, lollipops. Let the kids run, jump, be silly. Meeting great families. Learning a ton.
