Kiwanis Of Porterville

Kiwanis celebrates 100 years of existence!The Kiwanis Club of Porterville was charted in December 17, 1947. Our main goal is to serve the youth of the area. Since that time we have had 56 presidents. A few served 2 to 3 terms. There have been 18 Lt. Governors from the Porterville Kiwanis Club since 1947. At one time a noon club, called, “The Porterville Tule Club,” existed. It lasted for some twenty five years, before it merged with another Kiwanis Club.
In its 68 years of existence (in Porterville), we’ve had many projects to help the youth of Porterville. Some of our past projects:

Many of these projects are still going on today. ! Our own members will spearhead ideas/projects and often will help co-sponsor events as well.
We also support Kiwanis Youth groups in schools, including Harmony Magnet Academy with great key leader staff. Where students are taught to be our future leaders and get to know and understand the meaning of community service.
The Kiwanis International places it emphasis more on the Spiritual, rather than on the Monitory Value of life. Kiwanis is a Worker Club and no matter whether you are eighteen or eighty, there is something you can do. We help young men and women to achieve their goals and serve the community instead of being served.Our members come from all walks of life, from laborers to professional .retirees, and the friendship lasts forever. In our club we become not only friends, but family, we all have the same vision, to service.
