Tom has a varied and extensive experience in the justice system. Upon graduation from Auburn, he served as a Police Officer with the City of Montgomery for four years. Tom then moved to the Calhoun County area and began a career as a Juvenile Probation Officer; he was later promoted to Chief Juvenile Probation Officer and stayed with the Calhoun County Juvenile Probation Office for 19 years. Upon completion of law school, Tom was hired to serve as the Assistant Family Court Director with the Administrative Office of Courts (AOC). During his time with the AOC, he was a part of crafting and passing the rewrite of the Juvenile Code, the first major rewrite since 1977. Tom served as the lead trainer on this statute revision for the State Judges, Court personnel and practicing attorneys. Tom also served as one of the lead trainers for GAL program. Tom retired from state service with over 23 years of service and opened his law practice in Anniston. He values his experiences with the criminal justice system and the Courts because it exposed him to a variety of clients, cases and unique situations.

In 2012 Tom started his own solo practice, The Law Firm of Tom Wright, LLC where he represents a variety of clients in all areas of law. He has used his experience with the Courts and with dealing with people to create a hands-on, caring practice, where people are as important as fees.
