Education therapy for students struggling in reading and writing run by Lisa Klipfel, Education Therapist.
Many students who learn to read, still struggle with spelling. The English writing system has been described as "crazy" and "difficult to understand". We use a linguistic model that teaches about the writing system using a descriptive approach, focusing on a student's strengths of reasoning and pattern seeking.
Structure Word Inquiry (SWI) is used in session for spelling. It uses a multi-sensory approach, observation and the scientific approach to studying our English writing system.
Dyslexia is a language based specific learning disability that effects reading and spelling. It can be identified as early as kindergarten, but is often not found until after 3rd grade. We offer effective interventions in person and online.
