Churches often fall victim to continuing to ‘Do Church’ the same ways that it always has without accounting for the numerous changes occurring in the contemporary context. Whether we discuss worship styles and formats, programming, or any of the other dimensions of the local congregation, we will eventually arrive at the wall of: “That’s the way it’s always been.”

While tradition, in church, is not being minimized, many groups of people are not getting what they need most from the local churches. The worship, programming, and/or activities does not seem to change with the times.

Here at Trinity United Methodist Church, we are hoping to venture into new and more relevant ways of living into a life of faith. It is our hope that we, as a church, can prayerfully discern ways through which we can continue to share the glory of the Gospel with people of all ages, in ways that empower them to live a transformative life in pursuit of the discipleship to which they have been called.
