Lisa Duffey, LPC

Lisa earned a BS in Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia in 1999, and a MA in Psychology from the University of West Georgia in 2003. Lisa is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia, and a National Certified Counselor with five years’ experience in the mental health and counseling setting. In 2003, Lisa completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Tallapoosa Center for Inner Arts, and has been teaching Yoga in Carrollton since that time. Lisa has a unique approach to psychotherapy, aiming to helping others overcome suffering by connecting with their authentic selves and creating meaning in their lives. Lisa co-creates individualized programs with her clients, designed to achieve optimal results, weaving psychotherapy with a humanistic, psychodynamic approach and mindfulness. This gives clients a safe place to explore what is getting in the way of the life they want to live by helping them to become more present and engaged with oneself and others. If clients are interested, Lisa also works with Psych-K, a simple, yet powerful process to change subconscious beliefs that are self-limiting and self-sabotaging, and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), the psychological acupressure technique used to optimize emotional health. Lisa has extensive experience helping people to cope with anxiety, stress management, depression, anger, relationship issues, divorce, co-parenting, feelings of loneliness, and past trauma. Lisa works with individuals, from adolescents through adulthood, and families.
