More about Lizzy McCormack’s Irish Pub

Lizzy McCormack's Irish Bar was established in 2004 by Irish native Roger and his partner Karen. We always strive to be the best Irish Bar in Orlando, FL. Lizzy McCormack's is centrally located off North Orange Avenue in the heart of downtown Orlando and is proudly one of the last independently owned and operated bars in downtown Orlando.

Roger built his first family at his old downtown establishment, Skinny's, in 1993. "Skinny's was a fun bar with a close family of regulars. We had pool tables, a jukebox, and an alternative feel" Roger recalls. After closing in 2001, Roger began planning his next endeavor which would eventually become Lizzy McCormack's Irish Bar. "We like to say Lizzy's is 'everything you need in an Irish bar; nothing you don't.'" Roger adds.

Lizzy McCormack's features 150+ Whiskeys, earning us the reputation as having one of the best Whiskey selections in central Florida. We also created one of Orlando's only "Whiskey Clubs" where patrons can earn a permanent spot on our wall when they've reached Whiskey milestones for 30, 50, and 100 Whiskeys.

We are home to Lizzy's World Famous Pudding Shots, which are made fresh each day and served chilled with a fresh whipped cream to top them off. We rotate over 40 flavors of the delicious treats, including seasonal favourites like Pumpkin Pie and Eggnog. Craft beers, craft cocktails, and perfectly poured Guinness draught are staples under our roof. Lizzy McCormack's proudly has the longest Happy Hour in Orlando, offered Seven days a week from 2pm - 8pm.

St. Patrick's Day is our favourite day of the year. We have one of the largest St. Patrick's day celebrations in Orlando which features a real live Irish band, Irish beer, cider, and Whiskey specials, and giveaways throughout the day.

Who is Miss Lizzy McCormack, you ask?
Lizzy McCormack was the name of Roger's mother's aunt - a firm, upstanding, "by-the-book" Irish woman. So he thought anyhow. After establishing the bar and naming it Lizzy McCormack's, Roger phoned his to mother to give her the exciting news. To his surprise, his mother replied "I'm sorry dear, but Aunt Lizzy's last name was not McCormack. You must be mistaken."

Once Roger came to terms with this, it was decided that the long years of drinking fine whiskeys and Irish beers attributed to the creation of this fictional Irish charactor which turned out to be a well suited name for a fine Irish bar. In other words, we're left having no bloody clue who Lizzy McCormack is or if she even exists. But we'll drink to that!
Sláinte!
