MADD Southwest Florida

MADD SWFL provides free, life-saving supportive services to the community in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties. Our office is in the Gateway neighborhood of Fort Myers in JetBlue Park’s back yard.

In our local Southwest Florida community, we join our colleagues around the country in our mission to end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, serve victims of these violent crimes and prevent underage drinking.

MADD SWFL opened an office in Southwest Florida in February, 2013. We had one Program Specialist who was funded through a grant by the Florida Department of Transportation. The grant’s scope of services focused on education and awareness in the prevention of underage drinking. Between 2013 and 2015, we provided free prevention, education and awareness presentations and activities to over 25,000 youth, parents and community members.

The community requested more of MADD’s services be available – especially victim services for victims and survivors of substance-impaired driving crashes and services related to our Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving.

In January, 2016, we added another staff member who is non-grant funded to increase the services provided in the community. Today, we have a staff of two and a group of dedicated volunteers; all are MADD Difference Makers committed to healthy alcohol-free youth and safer roads for families, friends and visitors in our community.

MADD SWFL is committed to being part of the community's fabric to ensure that there are no more victims of drunk and drugged driving and that drunk and drugged driving crashes are 100% preventable by simply designating a non-drinking, sober driver, using Uber or calling a taxi.
