More about The Mardi Gras Museum of Costumes and Culture

Featuring an amazing array of Mardi Gras Carnival costumes from the private collection of New Orleans entertainment producer Carl Mack, the Mardi Gras Museum of Costumes and Culture showcases the rich history of costuming in New Orleans and the variety of ways revelers participate in the celebration of Mardi Gras and the Carnival season.

On exhibit are the regalia of Mardi Gras Kings and Queens, elaborately feathered and beaded Mardi Gras Indian suits and Social Aid and Pleasure Club attire, as well as costumes from Carnival Krewe Tableau balls, Cajun Mardi Gras riders and much more.

Walking through the museum, visitors experience a taste of the amazing and serendipitous creativity that makes up the fantastic celebration that is Mardi Gras. An interactive “costume closet” is available, where museum guests may dress up and take pictures.

The Museum is appropriate for all ages.
