Marietta Main Street

Marietta Main Street’s mission is to bring people together to preserve, enhance and enjoy downtown. Formerly known as ReSTORE Marietta, dedicated, community oriented volunteers from three separate merchants associations, came together to pool their resources and improve downtown Marietta. Since 2006, they have worked tirelessly to achieve Main Street status. By consistently applying the Main Street Four-Point Approach®, that goal was achieved in July, 2013.

The Ohio Main Street Program, administered by Heritage Ohio, assists communities across Ohio to improve their historic business districts. Based in historic preservation, the Main Street approach was developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to save historic commercial architecture and the fabric of American communities’ built environment. This has become a powerful economic development tool

Through partnerships, private donations, grants and collaboration with the City of Marietta, our organization works to enhance the economic vitality of downtown Marietta and Harmar Village. Marietta Main Street also succeeds in bringing thousands of people downtown each year through a variety of events and promotions, and invests in beautification projects to make the downtown more attractive to shoppers, business owners, residents, and potential investors.
