More about Marilyn Horne Museum and Exhibit Center

Born in Bradford, Pennsylvania, in 1934, Marilyn Horne began singing at a very young age. She would go on to become one of the most recognized and beloved opera stars in the world. The Marilyn Horne Museum and Exhibit Center showcases her life, career, and achievements as an artist, a philanthropist, and an educator.

The 3,400 square-foot, state-of-the-art exhibition space features artifacts from her personal archive, interactive touchscreen exhibits, and a theater space that recreates the look and feel of an 18th-century Italian opera house. The collection includes reproductions of some of the lavish costumes Marilyn Horne wore while performing in some of her most famous roles.

The museum is housed in a circa 1932 Art Deco building conveniently located in the heart of Bradford’s historic downtown district. You will be dazzled by the building’s grand foyer with marble flooring and architectural details reminiscent of the 1930s. Adjacent to the museum is a gift store and café serving specialty coffees, pastries, and lighter fare.
