Mathers Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness is a veteran owned family oriented academy offering quality training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & fitness. We welcome participants of all ages who are eager to learn and improve themselves through the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or fitness training. BJJ classes are led by Professor Tony Mathers, who received his black belt from 2nd Degree Black Belt Piet Wilhelm, who is under 5th Degree Black Belt Renato Tavares. The academy is also an affiliate with Triton Fight Center. Bootcamp, fitness classes, and personal training are ran by ACE Certified Trainer, Amy Mathers.

The Art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu:
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art, combat sport, and self defense system that focuses on grappling and ground fighting. The founders, Carlos and Helio Gracie, customized Japanese Jiu-Jitsu and Judo to create the art. BJJ is designed to teach a person how to defend himself from an opponent, no matter their size, using leverage and proper technique. BJJ focuses on submissions, either joint-locks or chokeholds from the ground, without using strikes.
You don’t need to be the strongest, biggest, fastest or the best to advance or succeed.
