Founded in 1926, Maxor has grown from a single pharmacy in Amarillo, Texas, into a national leader in a number of areas, including retail and mail order pharmacies, pharmacy benefit management, pharmacy consulting and management with expertise in 340B, home infusion, specialty pharmacy, third-party administration services, correctional pharmacy services, pharmacy audit, and pharmacy technology.

The Maxor name originated from Howard Guy Maxfield and Samuel Orr who together founded Maxor Drugs. In 1966, Jerry H. Hodge, R.Ph. purchased the drug store, and under his leadership the company continues to build on its legacy of innovation and service.

With corporate offices in Amarillo, Texas, the company also has regional offices in New York; Maryland; Vermont; Washington, DC; Texas; Michigan; Tennessee; Georgia; Florida; Oklahoma; Colorado; Arizona; California; and Washington.

1966 - Jerry Hodge, RPh purchases Maxor

1986 - Maxor creates IV Solutions®

1989 - Maxor establishes Maxor Pharmacy Consulting and Management

1991 - Maxor incorporates MaxorPlus®, a pharmacy benefit management (PBM) division

1996 - Maxor opens its mail order fulfillment center in Amarillo, Texas

2000 - IV Solutions expands service nationally

2006 - Maxor forms Maxor Specialty Pharmacy

2007 - Maxor forms Maxor Correctional Pharmacy Services

2011 - Maxor acquires PickPoint Corporation

2012 - Maxor forms Maxor Administrative Services, which provides third-party administration (TPA) services to self-funded health benefit plans
