McAllen Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) is an isolated, policed, and enclosed area, adjacent to the Mexican border, with access to other ports of entry. Foreign Trade Zones are considered outside customs territory of the United States.
Merchandise from all over the world is admitted into the foreign trade zone; and may be assembled, manufactured, manipulated, sorted, repaired, cleaned, inspected, distributed, repacked, and destroyed.
