MeditationBench.com is owned and operated by Ananda Woodworking which is a family run business located in Ananda Village in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills in Northern California.

Tim Kretzmann was a woodworker, a meditator and a musician for almost all of his adult life. As one who meditated daily, he deeply valued the opportunity to make fine quality meditation products that could aid others in this invaluable and transforming practice.

Tim lived at Ananda Village, a yoga and meditation community, from 1978 until his death from cancer in August of 2012. He lived a life of great joy and service which helped make many happily-meditating customers over years.

Now the business is carried on by Tim's three children, Krishnabai, Peter and David, as well as Hannah, Sterling and Elaine - dear friends here in Ananda Village. We all try to carry on the business with that same attitude of joy and service that Tim lived so well.

Krishnabai Lewis, Tim's daughter, was born at Ananda Village and grew up with meditation and yoga as part of her daily life. She has been a part of MeditationBench.com since moving back to the community in 2005. Krishnabai has been working on adding pillows, zabutons and most recently tote bags to our product line.

Peter Kretzmann, Tim's son, was also born at Ananda Village. He has built and worked on our websites as well as helping in the shop. At the moment he helps the company remotely from his home in Los Angeles where he is part of The Joy Singers, a vocal quartet.
