Midwest Overland Training

Midwest Overland Training teaches those who that want to experience the outdoors off highway in a safe and confident manner. Those who have the desire to break free from the couch, and have an adventure that lasts a few hours or a weekend, to month long expeditions. We offer short weeknight classes, and more involved multi day classes that teach and do practical hands on training in small groups. We work hand in hand with local vendors providing their clients with education enrichment for their adventures.

Meet the Instructors
Anthony Merriman


Anthony has spent the last 30+ years exploring the midwest from his hometown of Columbus Ohio. For many years he focused on offroad driving and camping with family and friends. A founding member of both RRORC (15yr) and Offroadohio (16yr and counting). He spend 3 years with WEROCK as a spotter and pit crew learning advanced offroading techniques and meeting fantastic people just as passionate about motorsports.

He began with backyard camping with his parents and large family. That progressed into offroad driving in his early teens on motorcycles and offroad trucks. He has spent many years as an active member of several offroading clubs and groups and progressed onto professional rock crawling in WEROCK with fellow club members. Once his young family grew in size he changed focus and began doing what is now commonly called "Overlanding" which combined his passions of getting outdoors to explore and camping.
