Mississippi Baptist Bible Institute

Established June 2016 as a ministry of Central Missionary Baptist Church Ellisville, MS. We are a traditional conservative, Baptist institute, with instructors who are qualified doctrinally, spiritually, practically, and academically. We use the King James Bible in all instruction, emphasizing the practical application of scripture in daily living. We are pre-tribulation rapture in eschatology and emphasize the local church in our ecclesiology. Dr. Joseph Harris is the Director. Because of growth in its first year, in 2017, MBBI moved to facilities provided by Houston Road Baptist Church at 217 Houston Road Laurel, MS 39443.

Concerning certain doctrinal positions, practices and movements prevalent today in Christianity and among Baptists, MBBI holds to certain positions.

1. MBBI is distinctly Baptist and conservative in doctrine, practice and philosophy. We adhere to the old time standard that Biblical preaching is the center of a worship service and hold to and practice a traditional form of worship with traditional music, rejecting most modern contemporary worship.
2. MBBI does not hold to nor promote reformed doctrine, commonly referred to as Calvinism.
3. MBBI is not Pentecostal or Charismatic in doctrine or practice.
4. MBBI is not sympathetic with the prosperity gospel, Emergent Church movement and seeker sensitive groups, or any other groups connected with these movements.

As an educational institution, in addition to current certificates and diplomas offered, MBBI seeks to become a teaching and resource center focusing on preserving and promoting true Baptist history and the history of the preservation of God's Word as found in the providentially preserved original language texts and the Authorized Version.
