Ujjwal Shakya holds two doctorate degrees, a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 2010 and a Doctor of Manual Therapy from Ola Grimsby Institute in 2014. He is Board Certified Sports Specialist (SCS). He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Bio-Technology from the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, Texas. Dr. Shakya completed his Manual Therapy Residency Education from Ola Grimsby Institute in 2011-2012. During his residency training, he had numerous opportunities to work under Manual Therapy Specialist/Fellows in different US cities, including Seattle, St. Louis, Salt Lake City, Dallas, and Cleveland. Dr. Shakya successfully defended his research under Dr. Karen Dubrow (Ola Grimsby Institute in 2013). He completed his Level I and Advanced Level II Functional Dry Needling (Trigger-Point Dry Needling) training from Kinetacore in 2013. Certified in Therapeutic Taping, IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Moblization), Vestibular Rehab. He uses STEP (Scientific Therapeutic Exercise Progression) for exercises prescription and Tissue-Specific diagnosis during examination. He is also certified Clinical Instructor for Physical Therapy Students. He is a Board Certified Sports Specialist (SCS).
