organization committed to uniting our school community through strong leadership, community service, promoting student awareness, and planning student activities.
Extended Day at Prep!

Our Extended Day Program offers instructional support in Math, ELA, Science and Social Studies. Enrichment classes include, Band, Specialized HS Prep sessions, Drama, Lego Robotics and Track!

WHO IS ON STUDENT COUNCIL?

There are two parts of the Student Council. The Executive Council consists of a President (8th Grader), Vice-President (7th or 6th Grader), Secretary (any grade), Treasurer (any grade), and three grade Representatives (one from 6th, one from 7th, and one from 8th grade). Also, each homeroom elects a student to represent their class in the Student Congress. The Congress consists of all the homeroom Representatives.

WHAT DOES STUDENT COUNCIL DO?

As a member of the Student Council, students receive leadership training, go on leadership field trips, perform community service, fundraiser for the school, and plan student events like Spirit Week, basketball tournaments, reward field trips, and dances. Students who participate will help make important decisions for our school community!

Students interested in running for a Student Council position attend an Interest Meeting in September. At the end of September we hold an Election Assembly where candidates for the Executive Council deliver speeches to the entire student body. Each homeroom then holds an election for Homeroom Representatives.
Our first official meetings begin at the end of September/beginning of October.

HOW DO STUDENTS GET INVOLVED?

Prep is committed to developing our student council as it is our belief that student input can improve and strengthen our school in many unique ways. Students bring new energy and ideas to the school. Additionally, being a member of the student council provides leadership opportunities for students and allows them to learn skills that can be transferable to the workplace or community.
