More about Mt. Hebron Wildland Fire Module

Hard work, Professionalism and Dedication are a few of the qualities that the Mt. Hebron Wildland Fire Module takes pride in possessing. Stationed on the Goosenest Ranger District of the Klamath National Forest in far northern California, the Mt. Hebron WFM was first certified as a Wildland Fire Module in the early summer of 2012.
Prior to becoming Mt. Hebron WFM, Crew 71 went through periods of vacant supervisory positions beginning shortly after the crews formation in the early 2000’s. The crew was all but forgotten after years of failing to fill any of the 10 positions, when in the fall of 2008 Captain Mike Seaton and Assistant Captain Erik Blankenship accepted there new positions and began the process of rebuilding a valuable district and agency resource. After 3 very successful years of crew performance, Mike and Erik began re-evaluating their visions of the crew’s future and in the winter of 2011 a decision was made to pursue certification as a Wildland Fire Module. Because of Mike, Erik, and many other individuals dedication to achieve status as a WFM, Crew 71 was certified in the early summer of 2012.
Mt. Hebron WFM continues to grow by gaining experience and knowledge both on and off fires. Mike and Erik remain dedicated to expanding their wildland fire management knowledge along with remaining focused at providing the Klamath National Forest and all Wildland Fire Agencies with a highly professional invaluable resource.
