My Sycamore Canyon

Owned by the City of Riverside and operated by the Riverside Metropolitan Museum and Park, Recreation, and Community Services Department, the Ameal Moore Nature Center at Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park is a new nature center that stands at the existing main trailhead entrance to the park. The park is one of eight protected reserves within Riverside County for the federally-listed endangered Stephens' kangeroo rat. The park is used by visitors for mountain biking, hiking, bird watching, scholarly pursuits, and just contemplating the wonders of nature. Park entry is free 7 days a week and visitors are welcomed to stop by the center (Thurs-Sun) for information on the park, educational exhibits, and nature-based activities. The center is part of the Riverside Citizen Science project which will help the city to promote community participation in recording how plant and animal life is changing over time in the park. Park visitors are invited to participate in the observation and documentation of these changes using the Riverside Naturespotter smartphone app as they interact and engage with the park.

The intended purpose of this site is to serve as a mechanism for communication between City departments and members of the public. City of Riverside social media site articles and comments containing any of the following forms of content shall not be allowed:
