Nadia English-Williams, ND

Dr. Nadia English-Williams is a Naturopathic Physician and Midwife in the greater Portland area. Currently she practices at Canyon Medical Center, the only birth center in Portland owned and operated by Naturopathic Midwives.

Dr. Williams is a passionate physician dedicated to educating her patients on the myriad ways in which they can achieve optimal health. She loves to use nutrition to enhance overall wellness while guiding her patients to heal through various acute or chronic disease processes. “My goal is to always meet my patients where they are in their individual health journeys. Whether that is square one or just a nudge away from reaching their personal goals, I will be right there to support them fully.”

Dr. Williams knew as a high school student that she would be a physician. She went on to receive a B.A. with honors from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA as a Spanish major with a Premedical Studies focus. She had a unique opportunity during her undergraduate education in which she was selected to spend an entire summer in a simulated medical school experience at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. There she completed two rotations in the Labor and Delivery and Emergency departments. This is where she believed to have gained a competitive edge that ultimately led to her success as a medical student.

Dr. Williams is a graduate of the National College of Natural Medicine where she received her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and certificate in Natural Childbirth. As a student she completed several clinical internships with a focus in women’s health, chronic disease management, and minor surgery to name a few. She also completed an intensive post-doctoral externship here at Canyon Medical Center. The rigor that Dr. Williams experienced in this capacity undoubtedly prepared her to care for a large variety of patients with keen practical knowledge that can only be achieved “on-the-job”.

When she is not tending to her patients, Dr. Williams spends her leisure time with her loving husband, son and Yorkshire Terrier, Bentley. She is also a proud and active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, an international community service based organization dedicated to the scholastic advancement of women.
