Northbrook United Methodist Church Preschool

Our preschool is here to help you guide your child toward a learning experience that will enhance his/her life now and later. This will help him/her feel like a special part of the family and the community and in time this will benefit his/her world.

We provide an environment that focuses on cognitive skills, language development, fine and gross motor skills, social interactions and emotional and spiritual growth. Developmentally appropriate activities are structured throughout the day that help each child grow in areas of self-discipline and self-esteem. Our classes play and experience during the day through a variety of learning centers: discovery, science and nature, manipulatives, sensory, dramatic play, building, books, creative art, and directed art. Our three-five year old classes have listening and computer centers.

Art, drama, movement, and music are integral parts of our daily activities. We offer weekly music classes for all of our children and Spanish classes once a week for children in 4 day classes.

Children two years and above attend chapel twice a month. This special time includes stories and songs about God and His presence in our lives.

Our Media Specialist shares her joy of children's literature with all of our children during their media time weekly.
