More about Ohio River Greenway (Jeffersonville, Clarksville and New Albany)

The Ohio River Greenway Project is a planned linear park system intended to increase public access to the riverfront. The main objective is to provide better access for the public to view and enjoy this nearly seven and half mile stretch of the Ohio River which has a levee/floodwall system limiting the access currently. The completion of the Ohio River Greenway will allow pedestrians and cyclists the ability to transverse the seven and half mile river corridor from New Albany, through Clarksville, Jeffersonville and across the Big 4 Bridge to Louisville, Kentucky eventually coming back across the river on the K&I Bridge. The Ohio River Greenway Project is vast in magnitude. Considering the $42 Million Federal Access Project is only a portion of what will eventually become the premier linear park system, it is evident many sources of funding will be required to complete this project. The Ohio River Greenway will put any contributions to work creating this planned linear park system. By helping to build the Ohio River Greenway we are helping to make our community more livable. The quality of life will be greatly enhanced with increased access to the river and the ability to showcase the heritage and culture of the region.
