More about Oklahoma City Adult & Teen Challenge

Welcome to Teen Challenge Men's Center in Oklahoma City. Since you are viewing our Facebook page we assume you know first hand the pain and devastation addiction can bring. We are here to let you know there is hope. Through the years we have seen many people set free to begin the new life of which they have dreamed. We want you to know that you can have that same freedom to discover your passion in life and fulfill your God given destiny.

Perhaps you are a parent, sibling, or friend who has been watching someone you care deeply about slowly self destruct. Maybe your hope has been slowly melting away along with their health and sanity. You have been praying that they would come to their senses and return to life the way they know it should be. At long last, they are finally admitting not only that they have a problem, but that they can't fix it themselves. Where can we find the help that we need?

Teen Challenge strives to be the very best faith based facility available, providing prayer, counseling, a disciplined environment, teaching, recreation and job-skills training. The individual serious about changing their life can find the help they need, at Teen Challenge, to complete what they have started out to do; to get free of substances and become all that God has intended for them to be. We pray that you will make this choice and seize the opportunity by contacting us to begin your program of recovery today.

Teen Challenge programs for men provide a 13 month residential training program for men ages 18 and over with life-controlling problems, primarily in the areas of: alcohol abuse, eating disorders, drug abuse, depression, sexual abuse and promiscuity. While in the Teen Challenge program, each man will learn how to turn to God and be honest with himself. He will experience inner healing and learn to trust others again. We have designed a program to help break the cycles of failure, substance abuse and addiction by focusing on coping skills, social and relational skills and work ethics.

Our program includes:

individual and group studies
pastoral counseling
work ethics responsibility training
domestic skills and job training
Bible study and chapel services
ministry outreach recreation

The rewards of the program can include restored families, healthy relationships and becoming a hard-working, productive and successful member of society. Men can live free from the expectations of the "American culture" and become the man God designed THEM to be.

Teen Challenge International divides its ministry into five phases. Oklahoma Teen Challenge Oklahoma City is accredited by the national office to operate one or more of these phases.

Phase I: Basic Confrontational Evangelism

The purpose and method of this phase is to conduct evangelism outreach directly to the people through street meetings, jail and prison service, help-line, substance abuse programs, drop-in counseling, literature distribution and other outreach efforts.

Phase II: Short-term Residential Care, Crisis Intervention & Referral

Persons with life-controlling problems are provided a place to stay long enough to meet the immediate crisis, to receive a clear witness of the gospel, and to evaluate whether they need or desire the long-term discipleship training offered by Teen Challenge.

Phase III: Induction This is the beginning of the discipleship process.

It involves three / four months of Bible Study and character development. Individuals are provided opportunities to develop new habits and attitudes. Students graduate from this phase and go on to phase IV.

Phase IV:

Training Center: The individual is now prepared to start the nine-month residential phase. The student continues to develop Christian growth by strengthening attitudes and habits in commitment, daily living, honesty, responsibility, and respect. Emphasis is placed on good work habits. Wholesome relationships with family, the local church and community are stressed.

Phase V:

Re-entry commonly initiated by another phase, this phase often involves one or more of the following: temporary housing, personal and family counseling, assistance in finding suitable employment and church fellowship.
