Operation Zhero

This alternative to traditional forms of mental health recovery does not require prescription medications or long hours of describing traumatic events. Instead, veterans learn a simple "clearing" technique that interrupts the body's reaction to traumatic memories. Although the memory remains, the level of stress that memory triggers is greatly diminished. In many cases, gone.

Trained advocates work with veterans in a systematic way to first identify and then interrupt specific memories that bring on high levels of anxiety. On average, veterans will spend a total of 7 hours over 3 months to complete the program.

A key feature of the process is an innovative "clearing" technique that puts control back into the veteran's own hands. The technique sends signals to the body that disrupt the trauma triggered by those painful memories.

MIND & BODY

Operation Zhero offers a holistic approach to symptoms of PTSD. It's not meant as a replacement for other treatments. Rather, it's an alternative that has already delivered results that are both fast and lasting.

Pain of the past is stored and displayed in the body, creating a barrier in the pursuit of health and happiness. Meeting memory with immediate action changes the way anxiety manifests. In that way, Operation Zhero alters the landscape for those with PTSD, clearing a path toward sustainable peace.

PILOT PROGRAM STRUCTURE

The pilot will consist of three flights, each serving 200 soldiers.

Participants will attend three sessions with a trained advocate over a three-month period:

MONTH 01 / A 4-hour systematic session
MONTH 02 / A 2-hour follow-up
MONTH 03 / A 1-hour debrief

Donations are being sought to cover the cost of the pilot. Sessions will take place in the Des Moines and Cedar Rapids areas. Participants must sign up at least one month before their flight begins.
