Orange County Model Engineers

Welcome to the Orange County Model Engineers, home of the Mackerel Flats and Goat Hill Junction Railroad. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation that was founded in 1983. The Orange County Model Engineers, (OCME), operates 7½" gauge model trains for the general public to ride from 10:00 am - 3:30 pm every third Saturday and Sunday of the month, weather permitting. We do NOT operate on holidays that fall on the third weekend, unless otherwise posted on our public feed. Our railroad is located in Fairview Park, off of Placentia Ave in Costa Mesa, CA. The gate to the railroad opens at 9:00am and closes around 3:15pm, with the last train leaving Goat Hill Junction at 3:30pm. Parking is located up the dirt path to the left, in front of the station. Our club survives solely on donations from the guests and train enthusiasts that come out for a ride on our railroad and donations are greatly appreciated. "Remember, your donations help keep the trains running!"

Every kid loves trains. Why not spend their birthday with us at OCME? That's right! We also host birthdays for your children on Saturday mornings and afternoons. (That is, except the third Saturday of every month.) If you are interested in booking a birthday for your child, or to check availability, please email us or call us at our number and/or email listed below. We've also held special events for the Costa Mesa Police Department, Costa Mesa Fire Department, CHOC, The American Cancer Society, Raise Foundation, Churches, Schools, Kiwanis, and other private and public businesses and organizations.
