Yes, we are an Embassy. Christ made us Ambassadors with a ministry of reconciliation. When we begin to think and act from the perspective of an ambassador, we understand our reality quite differently.

We are not peasants under the thumb of an evil ruler in a foreign land - how some perceive the statement that we are "strangers and aliens". Rather, we are foreign diplomats, on assignment to represent the King of Kings in a land that He wants to offer freedom and favor.

Even better, we are Sons and Daughters of that King, carrying His full authority and power into a land darkened by sin, but slowly, steadily being "annexed" into our Father's Kingdom. Thus, we bring reconciliation wherever we go, "bringing many sons to glory."

Once we understand our mission and relationship, and once we realize what authority has been entrusted to us, we can start learning to think with the mind of Christ and to act out of the new, good heart that we have been given. And everything we do, every way we relate to others, comes into a new light, with a new purpose. Our trajectory is home, but our mission is "His Kingdom come, His will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven."
