Philip G. Vroom School PTA

The Vroom School PTA is very excited to bring numerous activities and experiences to all of the children of our wonderful school. In order to do this we need to fundraise! Our major fundraisers are the KidStuff Coupon Books, Cinderella Cheesecakes, Joe Corbi treats and Al Richards’s chocolates. Last year we held a very successful Tricky Tray. Due to the amount of work involved in hosting such a grand event we are hoping to make that a bi-annual event, so our next Tricky Tray will be scheduled for January 2014. This school year we hope to host a Vendor Sale with details to follow.

Our minor fundraisers are events that bring minimal revenue to the PTA but great reward to our children and the school community; Scholastic Book Fairs, Spirit Wear sale, the Walk-a-thon, the Holiday Bazaar, A&E Clothing Drive, Mother’s Day Sale, and Father’s Day Breakfast. Our favorite fundraisers do not involve spending additional money but utilizing what you have already purchase or used.The PTA participates in the Coca-Cola Rewards, Labels for Education, Avery Give Back to Schools and our most profitable Box Tops for Education. Last school year we raised $1,162 in Box Tops alone! You may also choose our school to be connected to your Target, Stop & Shop and Shop Rite cards. Please visit any of their websites for information about specific products and ways your purchases can benefit our school.

We also hope to help teach the Vroom School children about giving back, helping others, our community and the environment throughout the school year. In the school lobby there is a Uniform and Book Donations Center. You may donate gently used uniforms and books that your child has outgrown and as part of the Vroom community you may “shop” these racks and shelves as you need. We collect used cell phones and inkjet cartridges as part of the Phoneraiser initiative. We also collect bottle caps as part of the Recycle Caps for Aveda program. We sincerely hope that you take the time and effort to participate in as many of these fundraisers as you can. We will be awarding prizes for participation and want you to remember there is nothing too small that can be contributed. If every student raised $50 throughout this school year we would have over $20,000 for our school!
